In 2009, the city of
Palo Alto, California struggled with a rash of teen suicides. One newspaper
reported, “Another Palo Alto teen has died after stepping in front of a
commuter train, the fourth such suicide in less than six months.”
Do you agree
that God did not plan it this way? Do you agree that our children need
something better? A positive worldview that brings our children to understand
the good in this world – and thus to love the Creation, love God, love others,
and love themselves – is sorely needed.
Could it be
that many of us haven’t stopped to ponder the larger issue – the reason to live
the life that God, our loving Creator and Purposeful Designer intended for us?
Whatever
else we’re trying, it’s not working. Please notice the latest in the newspaper:
Americans are living
longer than ever before. U.S. life expectancy inched up again and death rates
fell. Rates fell for most of the leading causes of death with one exception –
the suicide rate reached its highest point in 25 years. The figure has been
increasing since 2000. Suicides rose more than 2 percent, to 12.6 deaths per
100,000 Americans. The 10 leading causes of death remained the same, with heart
disease and cancer topping the list. Suicide is the 10th.
Moms and
Dads, we need to reverse this disturbing trend before one of our loved ones become
part of the statistics.
That is why
the book, Purposeful Design –
Understanding the Creation and the accompanied curriculum Young Explorer’s Club were written – to
help parents ensure better for their children.
Please join the Club.
